If you’re fast approaching hump day lamenting the fact your pay cheque hasn’t come in, but your addiction to smashed avo and feta on wholemeal is too much each morning…chances are you’re like me. However if your lamentations extend to those yuppy types who take too long ordering their too-specific coffees in front of you especially, then the new single from Sophisticated Dingo is going to be your anthem this week.
Appropriately titled “Yuppies”, the new single is brilliantly tongue in cheek while ramming home some excellent garage grunge vibes. Today, we premiere the official music video, a visual journey that gives such a lifestyle the finger with humour very much at the fore.
“We shamefully embraced our inner yuppie for the shoot,” Sophisticated Dingo’s Lewis explains. “Boy, oh boy, it felt dirty. We’re glad our coffee-snob alter egos met their match in a showdown with us in true Dingo form though. Another plus was working with Harry Anderson. He made us dishevelled eggs look like a real pair of hot tamales.”
