Crepuscule. Meaning ‘twilight’ or ‘dusk’, the term wraps itself around some notions of melancholy, wintriness and a slow burn of sadness that comes intrinsically linked with missing a loved one. For singer songwriter Mary Webb, these are themes she tackles with a rich musical depth and beauty, with new single “Crepuscule”.
Working with dancer Lewis Major, the official music video for the single has been unveiled, a collaboration with Webb and filmmaker Tash McCammon. Taken from Webb’s new album Love Like Planets, “Crepuscule” is a gorgeous example of this songwriter’s talent, while the music video is a striking, memorable effort too.
“It’s a reflection on past love and loss,” Webb explains. “It’s also an acceptance of things moving on, and the seasons within us or our lives – the winter hibernation, the turning inwards.”
