For this year’s NAIDOC Week, Nocturnal at the Melbourne Museum has unveiled its line up beneath the theme – ‘Because of Her, We Can!’ – for July 6th.
Performing full sets on the night will be a dynamic trio of Thelma Plum, Mojo Juju and Kaiit, while DJ Sovereign Trax will be ensuring the dancefloor is jampacked throughout the night, spinning a set of music created by First Peoples artists. It’s been a minute since fans have seen Thelma on stage and with word of new music in the works, the hype is starting to generate once more around the songwriter. Similarly, Kaiit’s profile on the local Melbourne scene has been propelled by impressive live performances in recent months, while Mojo Juju has continuously proved to be one of the city’s strongest and most captivating performers.
Alongside the performances, punters can also visit the Bunjilaka Aboriginal Cultural Centre, where a brand new exhibition is on display. Featuring works by 12 First Peoples women from Victoria, the Because of Her, We Can exhibition will provide a great insight into our indigenous history and the history of NAIDOC too.
Tickets are on sale now – visit Museums Victoria here to get your hands on them.
