With Record Store Day coming up next month we should be getting some pretty great unreleased material from musicians across the globe. That drip feed has started with a chilling unreleased ballad from unstoppable UK band Foals. Titled “Rain”, the skeletal song was reportedly recorded during the What Went Down sessions,
which was released last August and recently won Best Album at the NME Awards 2016.
Hear ‘Rain’ below and watch Foals cover Ronson’s ‘Daffodils’, which originally featured Tame Impala’s Kevin Parker which will also be released as part of Record Store Day on a new 7″.
Record Store Day is scheduled for mid-April. Releases on the day or in the lead-up include an alternate version of Tusk from Fleetwood Mac, an alternate mix of Cloud Tastes Metallic from The Flaming Lips, a virtual reality device from Run the Jewels, and a peep from OutKast, who will releasing their classic “Elevators (Me & You)” on glow-in-the-dark vinyl. Sadly, these releases will take place overseas but stay tuned for a list of Australian artists participating in the big day.
