1. Disrupting Tradition – Panel Discussion
A discussion on “the re-emergence of traditional arts in a contemporary context” with:

2. Tracing Materiality – Artist Talks
Taking place live within the gallery over the exhibition’s duration, Artists Kath Fries, Renuka Fernando and Gillian Lavery discuss their work. The inner workings of their process-based drawing practice are opened up to the audience as their open-ended, improvisational approaches unfold.

3. safARI – Exhibition
Coinciding with the first opening weeks of the Biennale of Sydney, SafARI is the unofficial fringe exhibition that showcases the work of emerging and unrepresented Australian artists. SafARI has maintained a direct link with Artist-Run Inititatives and other independent creative practitioners across Australia. The exhibition will take place across numerous venues and sites in the Kings Cross area of Sydney.

4. Etsy or Regretsy: Getting started in the creative industries – Panel Talk
Hosted by Glenn Barkely, this talk will discuss the big question – How exactly do you become an established artist with a solid reputation? To build a career over time, or to flood the market with your work while the going is good? Hear from both sides of the argument then see how the resident artists are planning their own careers with a tour of kil.n.it studios.

5. Newtown Graffiti with Culture Scouts – Tour
With one of the top notch Culture Scout’s guides, take a two hour walking tour of the continually evolving street art scene of Newtown. Discover something fresh about Sydney then finish with a craft beer at Young Henrys.
