Comedy Bang! Bang! the hit comedy podcast and US television show is making it’s way to Australia in August for the very first time. So far there confirmed dates in Brisbane, Melbourne, Sydney and Perth between the 25th and 19th August.
Formed in 2009 Comedy Bang! Bang! started off life as weekly podcast of conversation and character work with some of the world’s funniest and most recognised comedians. Hosted by comedian and writer Scott Aukerman the show featured an assortment of guests and regular recurring segments.
Since then the podcast made the move to television, retaining Aukerman as host; and currently features Weird Al Yankovich as ‘Band Leader’. Working as an extension of the podcast the show continues to feature some of the US’s funniest people. The show has also been picked up and broadcast on SBS2 here in Australia.
Scott Aukerman, is a writer, comedian, actor and producer; and also incidently an Emmy award winner, thanks to his work on Between Two Ferns with Zach Galifianakis. Aukerman directed and produced the episode featuring President Barack Obama, which amassed over 48 million viewers and won the pair an Emmy.
With the promise of a troupe of special guests and mystery performers Scott Aukerman and Comedy Bang! Bang! appear to be ensuring their first ever tour of Australia is one to remember for fans. Let the speculation on who those special guests are start now.
