The Sound of Music to play a season in Perth this September

It has been announced today by producers Andrew Lloyd Webber, David Ian, John Frost and the Really Useful Group that The Sound of Music will be heading to Perth later this year, rounding out a highly acclaimed national tour.

This new tour of the classic play is led by the all star cast of Amy Lehpamer as Maria Rainer, Cameron Dado as Captain Georg von Trapp, Marina Prior as Baroness Schraeder, Lorraine Bayly as Frau Schmidt and David James as Max Detweiler.

On behalf of his co-producers, John Frost has said “Australia has taken The Sound of Music to it’s heart, with thunderous applause and standing ovations at every performance in Sydney and Brisbane. Rarely do we see such an acclaimed production of a much loved classic.”

The production has already seen sell-out seasons at Sydney’s Capitol Theatre and Brisbane’s Lyric Theatre, and is on the cusp of opening night at the Regent Theatre in Melbourne. The Sound of Music will make its Perth debut at the Crown Theatre on September 14, where it will only be showing for a strictly limited season.

Tickets will be on sale from Monday May 16. Head here for further information.
