Yes, you read that right – the nostalgia party that swept Melbourne back to the good old ’90s is returning this month!
After taking Australia by storm and garnering rave reviews, including a glowing 5/5 review from us, Cruel Intentions: The ’90s Musical is rounding out its Australian tour with one last romp through the aisles of Melbourne’s Athenaeum Theatre.
Based on the 1999 romantic drama of the same name, Cruel Intentions follows step-siblings Sebastian (Drew Weston) and Kathryn (Kirby Burgess) who make a revenge-fuelled wager and set out to ravage the reputation of Annette (Kelsey Halge). The self-destructive siblings soon find themselves caught up in a web of secrets, temptation, seduction and love.
Presented by David Venn Enterprises, this encore season brings in two new cast members, with Ross Chisari taking over as Blaine and Sarah Krndija adopting the role of Cecile.
From NSYNC and No Doubt to TLC and The Verve, this production is jam-packed with throwback tunes that’ll have you wanting to sing along and dance through the aisles. Speaking from experience, the iconic hits within will be playing on repeat for your entire journey home from the theatre… and the entire following week.
Whether it’s your first time or you’re ready for another dose of retro energy, this is your best (and last) chance to experience this energetic ’90s party before it leaves our shores.
Cruel Intentions: The ’90s Musical is playing at the Athenaeum Theatre in Melbourne from February 16th to March 5th. For more information and to purchase tickets, head HERE.
