Aussie squad Team Immunity heads to 2015 Heroes of the Storm Americas Championship this weekend

After landing finishing first in the ANZ qualifying tourney, Australian eSports unit Team Immunity will head to Blizzard’s 2015 Heroes of the Storm Americas Championship in Las Vegas this weekend and you can watch them go for gold live online.Team Immunity will have to survive against seven other highly competitive teams – five from North America, one from Latin America and one from Southeast Asia. There’s over US$100,000 in cash and prizes on the line for the winners and is the final hurdle to securing a place at the World Championships at BlizzCon 2015.

The Americas Championship is broken up into two distinct parts – stage one sees the eight qualifiers divided into two groups of four. They will then play through a double-elimination bracket. The top two teams from each group will move into stage two where they will duke it out in a single-elimination semifinal bracket to decide the overall victor.

The good news is you won’t miss a second of the action because the whole event will be streamed live on Twitch over at the official Heroes of the Storm Channel. You’ll be able to catch the entire event from 3:00am to 3:00pm AEST on Sunday, 20 September and stage 2 from 3:00am to 12:30pm AEST on Monday, 21 September.

We here at The Iris wish the boys the very best of luck this weekend! With BlizzCon in sight, they’ve got a real fight on their hands but we know they’re more than up for it.
