E3 2016: Microsoft unveils Xbox Play Anywhere, lets you buy and play games on Xbox One and Windows 10

Microsoft have unveiled a new initiative called Xbox Play Anywhere, a long awaited uniting of their Xbox One and Windows 10 platforms that allows games like Gears of War 4 to be purchased once and played on either platform and will track your progress and achievements across both.

It’s what fans have been asking for for years. Play it on PC, save and quit, turn on your Xbox One and carry on. Further, Xbox Play Anywhere also allows for cross-platform multiplayer between Xbox One and Windows 10.

Microsoft also announced that other games will now fall under the Xbox Play Anywhere initiative, with Ark: Survival Evolved up next.
