Ubisoft has unveiled yet another cinematic story trailer for Far Cry 6 during the Gamescom Opening Night Live broadcast. The trailer is heavy on character, and once again placed Giancarlo Esposito’s villain Anton Castillo at its centre.
The trailer provides yet another glimpse of his young son, brutally and strictly trained to follow in his father’s footsteps. You will, however, play as Dani Rojas, a guerilla fighter struggling against the oppressive Castillo regime. Castillo has discovered that a potent cure for cancer curiously lies within a special strain of tobacco found only in his country of Yara. If that all seems a bit far fetched, it’s because it probably is. You’ll have to figure out what Castillo is up to and bring him down, bit by bloody bit.
If it feels like you’ve seen a LOT of cinematic trailers for this game in the last year, you’re not wrong. This is now FC6’s fourth cinematic trailer. That’s a lot of cinematic trailers if we’re honest. This is also the second time Far Cry 6 has appeared at Gamescom, after being officially announced at the show last year.
Far Cry 6 launches October 7, 2021, on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC, PlayStation and Xbox One.
