Gamescom 2015: Halo Wars 2 coming to Xbox One, Windows 10 in 2016

Halo Wars 2, the follow-up to the 2009 real time strategy game by Ensemble Studios, is coming to Xbox One and Windows 10 next year. The game was announced by 343 Industries head Bonnie Ross during Microsoft’s Gamescom 2015 presser. In extremely good news for fans of strategy games, Halo Wars 2 is being developed by The Creative Assembly, best known for their long-running Total War series. It currently has a tentative release date of “next fall” in the US which means “about this time next year” for us here in Australia.

Check out the debut trailer above. The interesting thing about is that Ross specifically said the game was coming to “Windows 10” during her speech and the trailer reiterates that. This makes it seem like the game might not run on previous versions of Windows so for those running Windows 7 or 8.1, maybe keep your eye on that.
