Rockstar Games have announced that their upcoming open-world western Red Dead Redemption 2 will miss its planned Q3 2017 release date.
The delay, announced on the official Rockstar newswire, states that the game will now ship in Q2 of 2018, stating “some extra time is necessary to ensure we can deliver the best experience possible for our fans.”
The statement goes on to offer an apology in exactly the kind of strident terms Rockstar are known for. “We are very sorry for any disappointment this delay causes, but we are firm believers in delivering a game only when it is ready. ”
It’s not all doom and gloom, however! Rockstar did release a batch of fresh screenshots to ease the sting a little and you can check them out in the gallery above.
