Next Overwatch event will celebrate Chinese New Year

Overwatch will see its next major event kick off in just a few days time, with the central theme being a celebration of the Spring Festival, or Chinese New Year.

Dubbed the Year of the Rooster Event will begin in Oz on January 25, placing it only a couple of days ahead of Chinese New Year. This also means Australians will have all of the Australia Day public holiday on the 26th to spend on the game grinding for loot boxes.

Blizzard haven’t released any further information on the new event beyond a short clip on their Twitter account that teases a new costume for ice-spraying hero/bane of many lives Mei. Players can look forward to inspecting the costume up close while frozen solid once per respawn wave.
