Nintendo Switch Broadcast: Nintendo sets Switch pricing and launch date

Nintendo have finally announced pricing and a launch date for their upcoming Switch console during this afternoon’s live broadcast.

The console will be in stores on March 3rd and will retail for US$299. We don’t have confirmed Australian pricing just yet, but we have reached out to Nintendo Australia for comment and will update this piece if and when they respond, though we wouldn’t be surprised to see the device retail for around AU$349 when it does arrive here.

Also announced during the show was the news that the console will be free of any region restrictions and that it comes equipped with USB-C charger cables.

Red and blue coloured Joycon controllers will also be made available post-launch.
