2020 marks PAX Australia’s seventh year in Melbourne, and its sixth at the MCEC. The show first began in July 2013 at the Melbourne Showgrounds, before moving to Jeff’s Shed in 2014.
October 9-11 are the earliest dates the show has held since the move to the MCEC. Scheduling has pained PAX Aus since its inception — previous years clashed with Melbourne’s famous Spring Carnival racing event, making accommodation scarce. Moving the show into early October solved that problem but created another — the convention now coincides with what university students know as Week 12. It’s the week most of the year’s largest assignments must be turned in. Get those assignments done early, uni battlers.
