PlayStation has confirmed that its Play At Home initiative will continue in 2021. At the height of lockdown delirium in 2020, PlayStation launched the program by giving Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection and Journey away for free for two consecutive months.
This time around, the program will run from March to June and will give a different game away each month. Each game in the program will be free to all PS4 and PS5 owners. They will be separate from any games included in the PlayStation Plus lineup month-to-month.
Kicking off on March 1st, the first game on the list will be Insomniac’s Ratchet & Clank reboot. True enough, anyone with a PS5 and a PlayStation Plus sub will already have access to this game for free, but there’s plenty of people who’ve never played it before. We highly recommended it when we reviewed it at launch in 2016, and recommend it now still. It’s a brilliant platformer with a huge heart, and is perfect for keeping the kids entertained. Anyone who grabs the game will have it bound to their account for good. You can keep it forever.
Sony says it will reveal the remaining free games in the PlayStation Play At Home program, and a few other choice offers, over the coming weeks.
