Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart has a release date. Insomniac’s latest will arrive June 11, 2021, according to a new post on the official PlayStation Blog.
“When the evil Dr. Nefarious uses a device that can access alternate dimensions to find a galaxy where he always wins, Ratchet and Clank are separated,” the post reads. “As they try to reunite, they will meet a new Lombax resistance fighter, explore new and familiar locales (but with new dimensional twists!), and wield a whole new arsenal of out of this world weapons.”
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart will be the tenth game in the long-running series. Despite this, developer Insomniac Games says Rift Apart will be an ideal time for new players to jump in. It claims the game is a stand-alone story but will include “deeper layers of connection to previous games” for long-time fans to find.
The post also drops a short-and-sweet new preorder trailer, along with the game’s official box art and preorder bonuses. Those who preorder the Digital Deluxe version will receive the Pixelator weapon and the Carbonox skin from Ratchet & Clank: Going Commando.
As for the mysterious female Lombax that debuted in last year’s announce trailer, there still isn’t much to say. Insomniac still isn’t ready to give her a name, but it was willing to drop a few clues. Regarding the female Lombax, Insomniac said fans should “hang in there” and that they’ll be “feeling rosy soon.”
Ratchet & Clank: Rift Apart launches June 11, 2021 exclusively on PlayStation 5.
