Rockstar have completed their three-day run of teases with the reveal of Red Dead Redemption 2. Not only was the game’s title announced via the developer’s Twitter account last night, they also provided a release window.

It looks like we’ll be waiting around a year for our next trip into the American west, be it a prequel or a full-fledged sequel to the 2010 original, though the latest teaser image indicates that we’ll be getting our first glimpse of the game in motion when a trailer drops on October 21 at 1am AEST, 2AM AEDT and October 20, 11PM AWST.
It’s hard to imagine the game being a sequel to Red Dead Redemption, considering that game was something of a love note to the end of the American Frontier in the early 20th Century and, based on the silhouettes in the image above, we’d say it’s likely a prequel focusing on John Marston’s time with Dutch and his gang before their lethal falling out.
We’ll know for sure tomorrow night. See you then.
