Adelaide indie-folk band Sturt Avenue release heartfelt single “How Much it Costs”

We first came across Adelaide indie-folk band Sturt Avenue late last year when they released their album Bury Me in the Garden. On the back of that they’ve just released a new single “How Much it Costs”.

This time they’ve collaborated with keyboardist Dave from local band Bromham, known for their sprawling folk infused music. You may have caught them at this year’s Womadelaide on the zoo stage. What this has created is a deeply introspective track that delves into the struggle between pursuing dreams and succumbing to the routines of everyday life.

Sturt Avenue frontman had this to say about the evolution of the song:

“The song is about the apathy that lets you fall into the grooves of an ordinary life rather than pursuing the dream you had for yourself when you were still idealistic. Originally crafted for my sister’s documentary ‘It Comes In Waves’, the song evolved during the creative process.”

What results is a poignant aria that captures the essence of connecting to something tangible in life.

Have a listen and let us know what you think;
