Alison Moyet set for Australian & NZ album tour this October

Bonafide pop legend Alison Moyet will be dropping her new album Other this June and – praise, be – Australian and New Zealand fans of the musician won’t be waiting much longer after its release to see Moyet introduce them to the record, live.

A tour of both Australia and New Zealand is lined up for October, starting in Perth and winding up in Christchurch at the middle of the month. For Moyet, making Other was quite the experience at this stage of her career.

“For me, making a record at this age, lyrically, is a different proposition. Observation in most cases replaces emotion. The invisibility of middle/aged woman rather thrills me and instead I watch.”

“Subject matter covers what you might expect from a pop album. Dyslexia, locked-out syndrome, diversity, Persephone, doggedness and the Internet. Always asked what a song is about, I attempted to cooperate, but in truth though the lyrics incorporated my best attempt to describe what I see and of the meaning that is mine. I want, who chooses to, to find their own landscape or indeed none. Some of us have always felt ‘Other’. I no longer wish it were otherwise.”

Tickets for Moyet’s tour are on sale to the general public from 10am, March 24th via Ticketek and Ticketmaster NZ.

Telstra offers their customers an exclusive Telstra Thanks 48-hour pre-sale from 9am, March 22nd for the Australian dates. For more details regarding the pre-sale, please visit www.telstra.com/music.
