Angie McMahon announces the Making It Through Tour in support of her album Light, Dark, Light Again.

Angie McMahon

On the back of releasing her stellar 2023 album, Light, Dark, Light Again, Angie McMahon has announced an Australia and New Zealand tour, hitting up eleven theatres here and abroad this May and June.

Named our favourite album of 2023 (you can read our album review here), McMahon is set to showcase all the best she has to offer from Light, Dark, Light Again as well as a selection of tracks from her first album Salt.

To help you get in the mood for the album tour, here’s five songs we’d love Angie McMahon to play on the Making It Through Tour:

“Letting Go” (Light, Dark, Light Again)

“Letting Go” is an absolutely beautiful and triumphant three-and half minutes that’s as close to sounding like Bruce Springsteen as you think Angie will ever be. A song with a killer mantra about it being okay to make mistakes, “Letting Go” is the coming-of-age song you wish you had as a completely lost teen or 20-something making things up on the run.

Exploding (Light, Dark, Light Again)

The bubbling, churning and racing “Exploding” is completely authentic from its opening notes, before going complete supernova over its closing 90 seconds of lush and euphoric guitar. I genuinely look forward to the day I hear this live with a full band.

I Am Already Enough (Light, Dark, Light Again)

A triumph for finding confidence in yourself and pushing back against all those forces that tell you you’re no good as you are, “I Am Already Enough” feels like it is already (or will almost definitely be) a call-to-arms for all young people persevering through life as they grow into who they are.

Soon (Salt)

A song about the hope of finding true love one day, “Soon” showcases Angie’s doubts about whether she’ll make it through the heartbreak that exists in any stage of a relationship. A devastatingly beautiful song even as we approach it’s five year anniversary, “Soon” is one of Angie’s all time best tracks.

Pasta (Salt)

“Pasta” is a timely reminder that you’re never going to be able please everyone, and although you may feel at a loss in trying to do so, if you keep persisting and trying to please yourself, maybe one day you’ll find that inner peace.
