Melbourne indie pop outfit Jade Imagine will head to England and Scotland to support Julia Jacklin on her headlining tour across the island later this month. The shows in London and Manchester are already sold out and fans in Glasgow should hurry up to secure a ticket, because this combination attracts indie fans like a cherry pie does flies.
For those unfamiliar with the emerging musicians, Jade Imagine is a small Melbourne originated outfit with a big sound. Front woman and founder of the band Jade McInally has been around the local music scene since 2004 and lent her talent to Teeth and Tongue as well as Jess Ribeiro.
In 2017, she brought out the first EP with her own band under the name Jade Imagine, which features a line up of musicians including Liam Halliwell from The Ocean Party on bass, Tim Harvey on guitar and drummer James Harvey from Teeth and Tongue. With a set up like this not many things could go wrong and the first release What the Fuck Was I Thinking turned out to be a big success. The single “Stay Awake” was lauded by the Rolling Stone Australia as “a shimmering summer-invite track” and has dizzying, days wasted by the beach, feel. The lo-fi record, by Our Golden Friend and Milk! Records, doesn’t lack creative lyrics or refined melodies, yet it comes with natural cool and slacker-fuzz.
To round up their Goodbye 2018 UK tour, and a successful year for the four-piece, Jade Imagine will also be opening for Becca Mancari in London. The Nashville based singer and songwriter is known for pushing creative and genre defining boundaries as well as her skills on the electric guitar, which puts her unique stamp onto modern indie folk music. And not only will this be a killer show but the entry will be for free!
Jade Imagine will end 2018 where it began, back in Australia and more specifically in Sydney where they reunite with Julia Jacklin at the fourth annual the Phantastic Ferniture Christmas Extravaganza on December 20th.
