Best of 2010 Countdown: Top 40 Tracks – Part 3: 20 – 11

We arrive at the business end of our top 40 countdown, kicking off the top 20 with a track sure to hit pretty high up on the Hottest 100 countdown. This is one of those bands that has some incredibly dedicated fans. But when you’re making music as good as this, it’s should come as little surprise…

20. Angus and Julia Stone – And The Boys

19.

You saw it pop up in our Top 10 music video list, so this one’s far from a shocker! A favourite on just about every list it can get its hands on. “Ambling Alp” gave us all that moment in which we realised that one of our favourite bands was not only back, but better than ever.

Yeasayer – Ambling Alp

18.

Mr. Wally De Backer has made a triumphant return with “Eyes Wide Open”. We can’t wait to hear the new album.

Gotye – Eyes Wide Open

17.

Little Red took a bit of a gamble with their new album, Midnight Remember, but it seems to have paid off. “Rock It” was a favourite for many of the year, as was the full length album!

Little Red – Rock It

16.

The only surprise about this song making the list is that it didn’t make it higher! Easily one of the best tracks put out by Australian artists in 2010, “Let You Down” is an infectious, impressively produced gem.

Hungry Kids of Hungary – Let You Down

15.

Mark Ronson once again can do no wrong…

With “Solitude is Bliss” Tame Impala managed to seep into the mainstream sound of 2010. It was something I can guarantee you they didn’t expect, and I wouldn’t have called it either. But then again, that’s the power of the Modular name! Is it worthy of such popularity though? Most definitely.

It dropped onto our shelves back in January, and we haven’t stopped listening to it since. “Doubt” by Delphic was a standout of the electronic scene in 2010, as was the whole album.

Delphic – Doubt

12.

Fans of The National LOVE The National. They tell all their friends, they request them on the radio every chance they get. They are dedicated to spreading the word of their favourite band. It’s something that’s rare in music these days, but when you listen to this live version of “Lemonworld” you can certainly understand what all the fuss is about. These guys are incredible. Did I mention I was a fan?

The National – Lemonworld

11.

We round out this part of the countdown with another local favourite, who shot out what is possibly their best track to date earlier this year: “Jelly Legs”.

Children Collide – Jelly Legs

And that does it for this edition… stay tuned for the top 10!
