Punk icons blink-182 have come out with huge news overnight, announcing the highly-anticipated return of founding guitarist and singer Tom DeLonge and a 2023/24 world tour – as well as the new single “Edging”, out Friday.
The trio unveiled the news in true blink style – a one-minute video of various people saying they “can’t believe they are coming” (the new song is called “Edging”, after all), with the camera panning to show the three original members together.
This marks the first time that bassist and singer Mark Hoppus, drummer Travis Barker and DeLonge have been in the studio together in a decade, with a new album due in 2023. DeLonge took to his socials to claim that the record is “the best album of our career”, a moment fans have been waiting and hoping years for.
The mammoth world tour will begin on 23 March in Mexico and see the band perform across South and North America, UK, Europe, and finally Australia and New Zealand in February 2024. Supporting them in Australia will be punk favourite Rise Against in Perth, Adelaide, Melbourne, Sydney and Brisbane.
The multi-platinum selling act have just delivered some of the biggest music news of our generation after dispelling rumours of a reunion for months. Welcome back, boys – we miss you!
