UPDATED: New show added to Bloc Party’s Silent Alarm 20th anniversary Australian tour

UPDATE: A new show has been added to Sydney due to high demand – see all the dates below

It’s been two decades since UK indie icons Bloc Party burst onto the scene with debut album Silent Alarm, featuring thirteen genre-bending tracks that packed out sweaty dance floors with catchy pop hooks and sharp guitar work. The album went on to win the 2005 NME Album of the Year, and Indie Rock Album of the Year at the 2006 PLUG Awards. It also secured the band nominations for the 2005 Mercury Prize and Best Alternative Act at the MTV Music Awards.

To celebrate this monster milestone, Bloc Party have announced a run of Australian and New Zealand dates, where they’ll play the album in full, alongside a slew of their biggest hits. They were last here in 2023, co-headlining with fellow genre legends Interpol, and fans won’t want to miss another chance to hear the likes of “Banquet”, “Helicopter”, “Flux”, and “Hunting For Witches” live again.

The tour will kick off August 1st in Sydney, taking in Melbourne, Adelaide, Perth, and Brisbane, before crossing over to New Zealand for dates in Christchurch and Auckland.

US rockers Young The Giant will join them for the tour, making their first Aussie appearance in 14 years.

Presale for the tour kicks off on Wednesday March 19th at 9am local time. You can sign up for early access through Destroy All Lines HERE. General sale will start on Friday March 21st.
