Perhaps unsurprisingly, Carriageworks and VIVID Sydney have added an extra performance and DJ set by BJÖRK to their 2016 program. The acclaimed artist will be coming to Sydney to curate two nights of music at the Sydney venue, DJing alongside some special guests in June. The originally announced event will see the world premiere of the BJÖRK DIGITAL exhibition – an invitation for visitors to experience an exhibition of digital and video works that have come from BJÖRK’s collaborations with some of the most talented visual artists and programmers in the industry.
BJÖRK has said of the exhibition, “I felt it is time to premiere my recent virtual reality stuff and am delighted to do so in Sydney. We have made seven 360o videos for Vulnicura and I am enthusiastic about this natural continuity of the music video: the intimacy, total merge of surround sound and vision makes VR an ideal home!”
Along with all the above will be a special program highlighting her 24 year career, including work with noted film directors including Spike Jonze, Michel Gondry and Stephane Sedananoui.
