Let’s get ready for Changing Tides Festival – five acts not to miss

The weather is warming up and the holiday season is approaching, bringing the return of festival season. We’re all excited to be dancing it up this summer, and especially over the 14th and 15th of December, when we’ll be attending the Changing Tides Festival.

It’s returning for a second round after a sold-out debut, celebrating live music and local culture at the beachside town of Kiama.  Think fresh local producers, craft beer and wine, and of course, a delicious lineup. Here are five acts you can’t miss at Changing Tides Festival.

Let’s start with the headliners: Hilltop Hoods. Under their belt, they’ve got ten ARIA Awards, six #1 albums, and they were the #1 most streamed artist on Spotify for two years running. They’ve been hot on the Australian hip hop scene since their formation in 1996.

Another fan favourite: Lime Cordiale. Unique and infectious, an Australian pop rock consisting of brothers Oli and Louis Leimbach. If you haven’t seen them play before, you’re in for a treat. They’re loved for their fun, upbeat tunes, and they certainly know how to work a crowd.

Known for her social media presence as one of the most successful Australian creators on TikTok, and of course, her killer pop songs, Peach PRC will be gracing the stage. Here’s hoping she’ll play “Josh” and “God is a Freak,” two of her hit singles.

It wouldn’t be a beachside music festival without the psych-surf-rock six piece Ocean Alley coming to play.  In 2019, they won Triple J Hottest 100, with their song “Confidence”, and had three other songs included: “Happy Sad” at number 100, “Baby Come Back (Like a Version)” at number 16, and “Knees” at number 10. Returning after a whirlwind international tour, to close out the year with a bang, we’re confident they’ll charm us with an infectious melody.

Changing Tides Festival will have another huge act: Tones and I, best known for her breakout single “Dance Monkey”. In 2019, she was the most awarded artist at the ARIA Music Awards, om February 2024, she became the first female artist to reach over 3 billion streams for a single song on Spotify.

Overall, an incredible lineup, in a stunning location: the perfect way to kick off your holiday season.

Changing Tides Festival is on at Kiama Showgrounds (South Coast NSW) 14-15 December 2024.

The full lineup includes: Hilltop Hoods, Ocean Alley, Tones And I, Lime Cordiale, Ruel, Peach PRC, Mallrat, Old Mervs, Pacific Avenue, The Terrys, Blu DeTiger, South Summit, Annie Hamilton, Lola Scott, Chloe Dadd, and The Blssm.
