DMA’s are coming for you New York. Are you ready?
Yes, it’s that time already. The annual CMJ Music Marathon is coming to New York City in less than two months – and that means it’s time for us to get a first taste of the bands who’ll be gracing the event come October 21st. And that includes no less than 11 (and a half) Australian bands… with tonnes more to come!
Set as a music conference by day, festival by night, CMJ is a college radio focused event, designed to get bands onto the college radio scene, while offering New Yorkers (and the visiting music industry and fans) the opportunity to see the best emerging artists from around the world. Not to mention one off performances from some of the world’s best known artists. It’s one of our favourite events – and why shouldn’t it be? We get to run around New York City for a week seeing amazing music. Tick!
In any case, the 2014 event is shaping up nicely with some stellar international acts gracing the first announcement – including UK’s Bombay Bicycle Club, who’ll be fresh off their Australian tour, Cold War Kids, Bear’s Den, Gerard Way, The Kills and many, many more.
