Following on from the announcement that Courtney Barnett will be performing her only scheduled theatre show for the year in support of Patti Smith and Her Band in Melbourne, Bluesfest has now revealed that the Melbourne songwriter and performer will be heading to Byron Bay for a special festival show on Easter Thursday this year.
2016 was another huge year for Barnett, one that kept her on the road relentlessly, while her Milk! Records label continued to gain its own momentum at home. Barnett’s addition to the Bluesfest line up on Thursday sees her join a solid list of women from all areas of music, including the likes of Mary J. Blige, Rhiannon Giddens, Bonnie Raitt and more.
