One of history’s most highly influential UK rappers is returning to Australia after a painfully long absence.
During the peak of his popularity, Dizzee Rascal was a regular in Australia and in remarkably high demand thanks to classic albums such as Boy In Da Corner and Maths + English.
And while those projects still hold up incredibly well, Dizzee would move away from the spotlight as the UK’s hip-hop scene grew heavily, with the likes of Stormzy and Skepta emerging. And yet Dizzee’s legacy has always lingered over the scene with his DNA found everywhere from those two heavyweights to Central Cee and Dave.
So I guess you could call it a comeback, but like the originator of that immortal phrase, how can someone ever really fade away if they wrote the blueprint in the first place?
And so this 2025 Dizzee Rascal tour is one for the legacy. With a new album, We Want Bass, in tow, Dizzee will be performing all the classics like “Old Skool” and “Sirens” while also giving us a taste of his new sound.
Sounds good, right? You’ve only got three chances to catch him, however, as he shows Adelaide some rare love while also heading up to the requisite stops of Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane.
