Not since 2017’s highly successful Boys Meets World tour has Canadian rap impresario Drake even stepped on Australian soil. But eight years later, the globe-dominating artist has the country’s east coast firmly in sight.
In fact, he may well be debuting a brand new tour down here. The Anita Max Wynn (“I Need A Max Win”) has been teased for a few weeks now, and Drake let it slide on a live stream earlier this week that Australia is the first – possibly only – stop.
Live Nation has come out this morning confirming the news, with Drake set to start the tour on 9th February with two shows in Melbourne, followed by two in Sydney and one in Brisbane.
There are sizable gaps between each of the shows, so there’s every chance that demand could push for more dates to be added shortly after tickets go on sale on Friday, December 6th, at 12 p.m. local time.
Melbourne’s Rod Lave Arena will host Drizzy on February 9th and 10th, while the “Hotline Bling” rap-singer will hold court at Sydney’s Qudos Bank Arena on February 16th and 17th. So far, the schedule has Drake wrapping up the tour at Brisbane Entertainment Centre on February 24th.
Yet, when he confirmed the tour just days ago on Canadian streamer xQc’s live show, Drake implied that the tour will be running “’till like March something…”
As with all big-ticket concerts nowadays, there will be multiple pre-sales so determined fans can their hands on a ticket before contending with everyone else.
The pre-sales are:
Tuesday 3rd December – 12pm for Mastercard holders
Tuesday 3rd December – 12pm for Vodaphone customers
Thursday 5th December – 1pm for Westfield members
