This is quite possibly the coolest image I’ve ever seen. I hope the guitar made it to the ground OK. But it’s here to promote one of the most interesting festival I’ve heard about in recent years. On Saturday 16th October, 2010, at the Ramblers Drop Zone on Brisbane Valley Highway in Toogoolawah (near Esk, an hour and a half out of Brisbane), the Equinox Rocks Festival will be taking place. Wait for it: it’s an “Extreme Music & Skydiving Festival”. AMAZING.
It takes off at 2pm, heads on until 11pm, and is all ages.
Here’s some insight into what brought this event about:
Every two years Ramblers Skydiving Drop Zone holds their ‘EQUINOX BOOGIE’. Arguably the most important Skydiving meet on the Australian calendar, ‘EQUINOX BOOGIE’ attracts jumpers from all over Australia and the world who all converge upon Toogoolawah for 9 days of non-stop extreme skydiving, parachuting and music.
The ‘EQUINOX BOOGIE’ is also held to attempt new records within the sports disciplines. Australia’s largest international skydiving festival, it is a visual smorgasbord of colour and action in the sky and also includes night skydiving and fantastic evening entertainment.
