Exclusive Music Video Premiere: Splendidid “coco.sexbreath”

Melbourne’s Splendidid (not a typo) have been crafting a niche for themselves in the inner North’s music scene over the last eight months. Voracious gigging has allowed the group to jam out riffs and melodies live, and flesh out their psych-soaked songs based on what the audience digs.

Dom Alessio (triple j) describes their sound as “sunshine breaking through the clouds”, which is exactly the sound pouring through in their first single of 2017, ‘coco.sexbreath’. It’s elevator music that’s been to a beach party, had an affair with psych rock, taken hallucinogens, and discovered drum solos – and it doesn’t disappoint.

The clip follows a social outcast at a pretentious pool party, attempting to mix with the cool kids – all looks bleak, until he stumbles upon a well-marketed pack of chewing gum. It’s some kind of amazing drug, with a feverous dream sequence to follow.

We’ve got an exclusive premiere for you below  – Splendidid will be releasing it to the world on Tuesday, 23rd May. Splendid.
