Multi-instrumentalist Xavier Dunn has been in the midst of sharing his debut EP Isic Tutor over the last few weeks; already receiving acclaim from all areas of the online music world, Dunn’s exploration of soundscapes drenched in instrumental richness and an ambient, contemplative perspective has brought comparisons to Nils Frahm, Olafur Arnalds and even Bon Iver.
With EP single “Warming”, Dunn brings an idea born six years ago to life with an intimate beauty that shines through his folk-centred lyrics and melodic arrangement.
“It sounds like a love song, but it’s kind of the opposite,” says Dunn. “It’s about not making your partner happy and not taking care of the relationship.”
For this special acoustic performance of “Warming”, directors Patrick Rohl and Jack Toohey capture Dunn in this stripped back setting at COMMUNE in Sydney. Check it out below!
