Exclusive Single Premiere: David M. Western “Instant Life” (2020)

David M Western

Country Victoria has spawned a gifted singer-songwriter in the form of David M. Western. His indie-folk-rock exhibits charmed musicianship, and he has an uncanny ability to write songs which make you pay attention to what he has to say. We are thrilled today to be premiering his latest release “Instant Life’ before its release tomorrow.

“Instant Life” is a beautifully assembled track. Opening acoustically, bringing in the electric guitar and piano as a preamble for the final verse before amping it up on the outro, there’s plenty to love here.

Western gives some insight into the meaning behind the track: “Instant Life is written to pull you into an operatic world of money, work and dreams. A spilling of deep seeded hope. The dues you need to pay to arrive, stay and just barely scrape through. Where you know what you want but you can’t get it. Not yet anyway. There’s an entire world to navigate that pulls in a different direction from this dream.”

Helping out on track was Joe Orton on electric guitar and piano, Thomas Fraser on bass and Jess Elwood on drums. “Instant Life” was recorded by Alex O’Gorman at Purple Wayne Studios in Collingwood.

Western is currently working his debut album, which will hopefully see the light of day sometime in 2021.

“Instant Life” will be released on digital platforms tomorrow, 26th November 2020. In the meantime, enjoy this exclusive premiere.
