Des Cortez is one of Melbourne’s finest, accruing a steady legend of followers with their fresh indie sound. We’re excited today to be premiering their latest single, “Running”, ahead of its release tomorrow.
The band is the union of three close friends who decided to make music together. They met at school and have earned themselves a tag as one of the regular fixtures on the Melbourne music scene by playing over one hundred shows together. That experience has earned them a substantial bunch of fans and fine-tuned their energetic live act. The lineup consists of Sam Knight, Devlin McCarthy and Paddy McPhee.
Their new track, “Running”, was produced by Phil Threlfall (Seaweed on Sticks, Kita Alexander, Thelma Plum) and is described by the band as “a heartfelt and energetic endeavour that reflects their growth as musicians, with more works to come.”. There are some sweet guitars on this one, and they are a band to catch live if they end up in your neighbourhood.
It’s little wonder that they have sold out shows at the famed Espy in Melbourne, and supported the likes of The Rions, South Summit, and Dear Sunday.
You can pre-save “Running” HERE, and in the meantime, enjoy our exclusive premiere.
