Exclusive Single Premiere: Gangz “Evils” (2020)

The boys from Ballarat, Gangz, are about to release their latest single, “Evils”, and we’re thrilled to be able to premiere it today on the AU. It’s a fun summer-tinged tale of growing from the harder moments in your life.

Speaking about their new single, the band says, “Evils is about embracing all the bad things that have happened in the past and owning them, at the time it feels like you might not be able to get through whatever it is, but now realising that it’s those things that make you who you are today.”

Gangz are a four-piece, featuring Josh Haire on vocals and guitar, Tim Currie on guitar, Edan Strachan on drums and Colby Cross on bass. They got a kick-start when scoring triple j’s Unearthed feature artist of the week. They’ve also played at Spilt Milk and supported Kingswood in the past twelve months. Gangz has a kick-arse guitar-driven sound, filled to the brim with infectious melodies and sweet harmonies. Fans of The Strokes and Hockey Dad are going to dig this band. “Evils” is a total winner.

COVID-19 has obviously scuppered any plans to tour. In the meantime, the boys are working on the follow-up to their 2019 EP, Mid-20’s.

The band are currently donating 100% of their merch sales to the National Justice Project – a non-profit organisation that takes up the fight against institutional discrimination in Australia.

“Evils” is released tomorrow, but have a sneaky listen to it here first. You can pre-save the track HERE
