Jess Irvine is a fresh folk-pop artist and is just about to launch “Electricity”, her third single, and we are thrilled to be hosting the exclusive premiere at the AU.
“Electricity” follows on from “New Moon” and “Wild Wild Me” that both received national airplay. The track was produced by Nashville’s Ben Kling (River Westin, Kathryn Hallberg). Also helping out on the track was Mike Dwyer (The Lumineers, Vance Joy).
The track has a vast cinematic feel to it. There is a tenderness to it as Jess sings of the innate desire to break free from constraints in order to achieve contentment.
About the track, Jess writes: “This is the third song I’ve teamed up with Nashville-producer Ben Kling for. He’s living right in the heart of Americana / Folk / Country music, and I love how much that sound influences these songs we are working on together. We do everything remotely at the moment, but I can absolutely see us recording an album together one day in Nashville.”
The track has a feel of some of the great Irish folk singers, alongside the Nashville production influence. It’s a rewarding combination. There’s a gentleness to the vocals, which combined with lush instrumentation is utterly charming. Jess Irvine feels destined to play on a big stage.
“Electricity” will be released on all digital platforms, this Thursday, 1st June 2023.
