Yet another massive talent to emerge from Western Australia is the Boorloo/Perth-born and raised artist Laura Adeline. Laura has relocated to Naarm, and is about to release the tantalising and sultry “Curbside”. We are thrilled to be premiering it ahead of its release on Friday.
“Curbside” is an intoxicating blend of sweet, sad and sexy as Laura sings of the pain of saying goodbye. There is an enchanting blend of soul and RnB, as she laments the parting with her loved one. Her vocals are enchanting, nestled by the the smooth guitar lines, fortified by electronic drums and sweet synths.
About “Curbside”, Laura told the AU, “I wrote Curbside back in April with my friend Conor Lawson. It was one of those processes that felt like we were just putting the pieces of a jigsaw puzzle together. The song came so naturally and easy, it was completely done in two sessions. Being vulnerable in my music is so important to me, and this song feels like the most honest music I’ve released. I wrote it with the intention of showing someone how special they were to me and how hard it was to say goodbye to them. It’s longing, its yearning, it’s cuting my heart open and dishing it over a guitar loop. I hope that when someone listens to this, and maybe relates, they feel like I put something into words that they weren’t quite able to; maybe that they feel seen. “
Before her move to Naarm, Laura had been ripping it up performing in the local Perth scene. With a solid grounding from her time in WA, she is ready to soar on the East Coast.
