Exclusive Single Premiere: The Saga “The Saga” (2024)

The Saga

At the AU, we are big lovers of folk music, and hailing from Sweden and now resident in Berlin, is the artist known as The Saga, who delivers dreamy and ethereal folk music. We are thrilled to premiere a track named after their ‘pen name’, the gorgeous “The Saga”, before its release on Wednesday, 16th October.

“The Saga” is inspired by the age-old ‘audio fairy tales’, which traditionally start with “Once Upon a Time”. This fairy tale is set in the ancient dry Kingdom Ylleia, where the young princess Kaitlyn desperately searches for the salvation rain will give her people. There is a captivating cinematic feel to the track as the story unfolds. Beautiful guitars and sweet harmonies are to the fore, paying homage to traditional folk patterns while leaning into a vivid and magical lush soundscape. “The Saga” will deeply immerse you in the story, sparking the imagination and transporting the listener to this dramatic tale of love, parched earth and subsequent rain.

The Saga initially began as a solo project. Previously, The Saga played, composed and produced each component themselves. On this latest release, they have brought in some brilliantly talented collaborators. Added to the band are Ida Lönn, Åsa Eldh, Aditya Majumdar and Maximilian Karandjulov. Additionally, Olivia-Lee Lindgren features as a  harmony vocalist. The track was produced by Alban Constantin König.

This will be the third single to be released by The Saga, following on from “Haunted Home” and the 2023 debut release “Rows of Somebodies”, which has already had more than 430,000 streams on Spotify.

In further exciting news for The Saga, the track will appear on an EP called Pluviophilic Poetry, to be released on the 6th November. The magical mystery tour of Saga will continue to enchant and delight.
