Sydney singer/songwriter Em George recently dropped her latest single, “Metropolis”. George released her EP Wolves last year, the follow up to her debut self-titled EP that was released in 2016. We are thrilled today to be premiering the video for “Metropolis”, the lead single from her next EP.
“Metropolis” has a beautiful lush folk/Americana feel to it. It has a nostalgic yearning to it, perfectly complemented by the vintage tones of the video. The video was produced and edited by Em George herself. The shots of Em were filmed by Sam McAdam-Cooper.
George says of the video: “I wanted the video to be a visual memory board of past, present and future merging together into one film where I could experiment and create an interesting dialogue for the song. It was such a fun thing to produce, create and edit this video for Metropolis and work on another creative project I love. This song was influenced by the sounds of the 70s; artists like Neil Young, Carole King, Stevie Nicks and Joni Mitchell, so it only felt fitting that the video was a collection of people’s memories from the past.”
Enjoy the premiere of the video for “Metropolis”.
