We have the exclusive video premiere of “Don’t Wanna Be” by Melbourne duo Sophisticated Dingo. It features some pretty cute animation by Gabbie Rossiter, a cartoonist and animator who not surprisingly has been in hot demand during lockdown. The track is on their sophomore EP “How’s The Carry On!? which dropped last week.
It’s a fun busy track for these garage rockers, reflecting on the need to make the most of the day. For a two-piece, they’ve got an exciting sound here – it’s high-octane fun. Get on board.
The boys explained how Gabbie helped them out of a bind with this video: “When lockdown 4.0 hit here in Melbourne all was confirmed that we wouldn’t be heading out anywhere further than our own bedrooms to shoot a video for ‘Don’t Wanna Be’. With a new EP due out that was a fairly shattering realisation. Thankfully, Gabbie Rossiter came to the rescue with her cartoon animation. We were lucky enough to have been cartoonified by her previously and have been big fans ever since. We love the clip and couldn’t be happier with it.”
