Earlier this month The Velvet Club released their latest single, the fun and upbeat “Everything’s Changing”. Today, we are thrilled to have the exclusive video premiere for this track, ahead of its release on Thursday.
The track was written just before Melbourne’s lockdown last year. The track visits those moments in our life when we realise that we need to make a significant change in order to be happy. It’s not always obvious where we need to turn to, but it’s apparent that we need to make a change. They’ve managed to deliver this message in a fun, upbeat tune, with killer jangly guitars.
This video features some beautiful retro outfits. They are reminiscent of the worst, or possibly the best, depending on your viewpoint, of the ’80s.
Lead vocalist and guitarist AJ Tilyard gave some insight into the making of the video. “We had a lot of fun making this video as you can probably tell! We thought we would try to portray the feeling of being stuck in a job you don’t particularly enjoy, in the theme of a classic 80’s sitcom”
And reflecting on those outfits, “We spent a couple of days scouring through op shops to find the cheapest, most oversized, beige suits and got to pretend we were in ‘Anchorman’ for a day of shooting!”
The fun they had is plain the see. The video was directed by Dane Ebert.
