The organisers of Falls Festival have announced that the December 20/ January 21 edition will be limited to an All-Australian lineup. Recognising the uncertainty that awaits us in the recovery phase from Covid-19, they have made the decision to ‘go local’ to provide some certainty to the lineup.
Jess Ducrou and Paul Piticco, co-producers of the Falls Festival have stated in a letter released today, “We have some of the most exciting acts in the world and this special “home grown” edition of Falls will ensure that money stays in our local economy, providing maximum financial benefit for the Australian music community”
Given the high quality of Australian acts, it will undoubtedly be a stellar festival, and help inject much-needed funds into the local music community, which sadly has been mostly ignored by the Federal Government during this crisis. It also should answer the recent calls for a return of the iconic Aussie festival Homebake.
The 20/21 edition of Falls Festival will also raise funds for Support Act which has been providing much-needed support to the Arts community during the coronavirus pandemic.
Further details still to come.
