First round of bands announced for Australian Music Week; last minute applications extended

The inaugural Australian Music Week – taking place in Cronulla NSW this November – has announced the first round of 30 artists set to showcase at the music summit. The showcase performances will be part of a vast array of events and activities across five days, from panels and interviews to workshops and the premiere of Captured Australia.

More names have been added to the list of speakers as well, bringing the number of speakers announced so far to 47. The group is made up of Australia’s leading industry representatives from record labels, producers, touring and companies, triple j, the AU review and more.

Ted Gardner from Cross Section will be a keynote speaker at the event. The Australian born tycoon has been apart of on some incredible projects, including acting Road Manager for Men at Work, and working alongside acts such as Echo & The Bunnymen, The Sugarcubes, New Order, and Frank Zappa. Along with his wife, Ted has managed the likes of Jane’s Addiction, Tool, The Verve, HUM, The Geraldine Fibbers and Queens Of The Stone Age.
