Five international shows not to miss this April and May

The Snuts

We have been shell-shocked with the news that Splendour and Groovin the Moo have been cancelled, but it’s still possible to see some outstanding international acts in Australia this April and May. We’ve picked 5 highlights for you, from legends such as Incubus and +Live+ to Scottish rockers The Snuts. Taylor Swift and Fred Again… grabbed the headlines for the last month or so (and many hard earned dollars), and now it’s time to look ahead and get back out there. Here are some gems worthy of a night out.

Incubus & +Live+

American alternative rock legends Incubus & +Live+ will co-headline on their Australian tour this April.

Ed Kowalczyk, the only surviving member of Live, returns to Australia for the first time in 5 years, and we can’t wait to hear songs from their alt-rock classic album Throwing Copper, which will be celebrating its 30th Anniversary and more.

Incubus is the perfect co-headliner with Brandon Boyd the charismatic lead vocalist belting out more alt rock classic hits from their back catalogue of eight albums spanning nearly 30 years.

The Beaches

In a whirlwind of viral success and venue upgrades, The Beaches are making moves down to Australia with their Blame My Ex Tour this May. The Toronto band, formed by sisters Jordan and Kylie Miller, initially blew up on TikTok with the hit “Blame Brett” and are now performing at the likes of Lollapalooza. Despite also falling prey to the recent Groovin the Moo cancellation, the Blame My Ex Tour will be touching down in Brisbane, Melbourne, and Sydney!

Jungle

Disco-infused London collective Jungle are hitting our shores for the Volcano album tour, coinciding with their fourth studio album of the same name released last August. 2023 was already a huge year for Jungle, with a US/EU leg of the tour and the release of a full-length album film. Known for an incredible live show from both small stages to huge festival crowds, their showcase of artistic vision and sound will be nothing short of spectacular.

Alice Phoebe Lou

Alice Phoebe Lou’s fifth album, Shelter, is a journey of self-forgiveness and finding safety in reflection. From busking in Berlin to producing her music independently, Lou’s journey as an artist has brought her to Australia many times. Her 2024 return to our stages for the Shelter Tour this May is hugely anticipated in the wake of an incredible recent release.

The Snuts

Scottish rockers The Snuts have announced their Millennials Tour will be hitting Melbourne, Sydney, and Brisbane in May. After a successful run in August last year, the band is returning with the lead single “Millionaires,” which also marks the first release on their own label, Happy Artist Records. The Snuts bring with them a set of weighty credentials, recently supporting Louis Tomlinson and Kings of Leon. Backed by a solid fanbase, their Aus shows are expected to pack out fast!

They were one of our picks from the 2022 edition of Splendour in the Grass, so we are stoked that they are back.
