Six international shows not to miss this autumn (March-April 2024)

2024 is shaping up to be another huge year of live music here in Australia. With the festival scene feeling fully out of the COVID hibernation, and with some big international names touring down under, there’s plenty of entertainment to choose from. If you are an avid fan of live music you may already have a full schedule of gigs lined up in your calendar. But if you’re feeling spontaneous or just didn’t get to it yet, we have you sorted with a list of shows that still have last minute tickets available.

$uicideboy$

How can a hip hop act that sounds so relentlessly underground possibly hope to pack out some of Australia’s biggest arenas? It wouldn’t be easy, and if we were talking about anyone but New Orleans duo $UICIDEBOY$ I’d have reasonable doubt. Yet, cousins Ruby da Cherry and Scrim have built up such an incredible cult following around the world that high demand is pretty much guaranteed.

Their music is a pastiche of those hard-hitting, vicious beats we’ve come to expect from underground southern rap, expertly blended with various styles to present something wholly unique. Their sound is part Flatbush Zombies with maybe even some Death Grips thrown in for good measure. It’s the type of act you’d expect to see at a venue like Oxford Art Factory, so seeing what they do with venues this big is going to be as interesting as it is wild.
