This year, Fuse has officially joined forces with the Adelaide Fringe with the Fuse @ Fringe stage as part of opening night celebrations at Rymill Park on Friday, February 18th. Having worked along side and supported the Festival over the last six years, the Adelaide Fringe and Fuse have united, adding a second stage to the program giving local and interstate bands the opportunity to play in front the massive Opening Night crowds.
This year, the winning Triple J Unearthed band chosen to play at Fuse @ Fringe is Brisbane band The Cairos, who have recently released their EP ‘Summer Catalogue’ with the first single ‘Listening Party’, being played on radio stations across the country and of course Triple J.
The opportunity to play at Fuse @ Fringe this year adds to the already long list of premium achievements in 2010 for The Cairos – a year that has seen them play at premier festival Parklife, a number of dates on seminal Australian band Powderfinger’s farewell tour, the main support slot for The Mess Hall’s national tour, secure a spot on Peat’s Ridge Festival for New Years’ Eve 2010/2011 and co-headline a month-long tour with Melbourne act The Young Heretics. All this is not to mention previous support slots for You Am I, The Temper Trap, Bertie Blackman, Wolf and Cub, Mercy Arms, Custard, The Middle East and Yves Klein Blue.
Across two stages, experience the diverse sounds of a select line-up of this year’s exciting Adelaide Fringe and Fuse Festival music acts including Sally Seltmann (formerly known as New Buffalo and co-writer of the Grammy Award-nominated hit song 1234 performed by Feist), the John Steel Singers, The Transatlantics, Radical Son, Iwantja Band, Jackson Firebird, City Riots and more.
Fuse @ Fringe stage showcases the best of Australia’s up and coming acts, including:
John Steel Singers (QLD)
City Riots
The Salvadors
20th Century Graduates
San Cisco (WA)
The Honey Pies
Microwave Jenny (NSW)
The Cairos (Triple J Unearthed Band – QLD)
