Gimme That Guitar – venue change and new tickets released!

There has been a late venue change for “Gimme That Guitar”, the concert celebrating the late great guitarist Harvey James, taking place next Thursday February 17.

The date is the same, only the venue has changed. “Gimme That Guitar” will now take place at the Enmore Theatre. All tickets originally purchased for The Factory Theatre will be valid for the Enmore.

A new release of tickets is on sale from 10am tomorrow morning Thursday February 10, and the many people who missed out when the concert originally sold out will now have an opportunity to be at this once only event. The Enmore Theatre will be set up in concert mode with standing only on the floor, and seating in the balcony.

Headlining “Gimme That Guitar” is iconic 70s group Sherbet, the band that Harvey was most famous for playing in. Reuniting for the first time in more than four years, Sherbet will be playing a selection of their biggest and favourite songs, including “Howzat”, the song that contained Harvey’s most famous guitar solo.

Along with Sherbet, Harvey’s close friends and colleagues Richard Clapton, Renee Geyer, Ian Moss, Swanee, Dragon, Jon English, Kevin Borich, Lindsay Wells and the Band Of Friends will perform, with Libbi Gorr on stage as MC for the night.

Funds raised from “Gimme That Guitar” will go to Harvey’s family and to the Peter MacCallum Cancer Centre.

“Gimme That Guitar” – A Tribute to Harvey James is on Thursday February 17 at the Enmore Theatre, Newtown. Doors open at 6.30pm. Show starts at 7.00pm.

Tickets are $65 plus booking fee, available online from www.gimmethatguitar.com and www.enmoretheatre.com. Phone bookings can me made on (02) 9550 3666.
